Abstract

Data is becoming increasingly important in the everyday life of all beings in the world. As automation continues to spread in all aspects data driven operations will be the main force behind actions and decisions all over the world. IoT (Internet of Things) and the coming of high-speed networks such as 4G and 5G networks have made it possible to capture massive data and transmit it in micro sends. In Kenya today, exchange of images and videos is a rather ordinary activity and is set to be adopted further by all sectors of our society. Further, availability of HPC (High Performance Computing) machines has meant that any necessary computation can be handled within a very short time to give any sought answer. In this article, we briefly consider the areas of Transport, Medicine, Agriculture, Manufacturing, Military and Education and the impact of data handling methods in these fields.
