Emerging trends have  suggested that supplier development could serve as a more modern tool of competitive advantage that firms can leverage on to improve and sustain their organizational performance. Little research has examined the moderating effect of organization culture on the relationship between supplier development and organization performance in the manufacturing sector of Kenya. The purpose of this study was to determine the moderating effect of organization culture on the relationship between supplier development and organizational performance of food and beverage manufacturing companies in Kenya.  The study employed a mixed research design. The study used resource dependency theory. The target population was 651 respondents comprising of 217 procurement managers and 434 procurement officers from 217 food and beverage manufacturing companies. A sample size of 248 respondents comprising of 65 procurement managers and 183 procurement officers was selected from 65 food and beverage manufacturing companies in Kenya. Simple random sampling was used to get 183 procurement officers.  Purposive sampling was used to get procurement managers in the manufacturing firms. Primary data was collected by the use of a questionnaire. The reliability coefficient of the questionnaire was assessed by using Cronbach’s Alpha. Content validity of the instrument was determined by the researcher using expert judgment. Analysis of data was done using descriptive and regression analysis. The regression coefficients of interaction between supplier development and organization culture on performance of food manufacturing firms was (β = 0.058, t = 4.68, P <0.05). Therefore organization culture moderates the relationship between supplier development and the performance of food and beverage manufacturing firms in Kenya. The study concluded that supplier development influences the performance of food and beverage manufacturing companies. Further that organization culture moderates the relationship between supplier development and performance of food manufacturing firms. The management of food and beverage manufacturing companies in Kenya should enhance supplier development so as to enable the provision of better services and also to meet competition and at the end achieve their goals for the organizational survival.
